This is the first year that we are presenting the HolidayCheck TopHotel Award. This award sits alongside the 99 hotels awarded the HolidayCheck award to celebrate the most popular hotels in particular regions.
Is the HolidayCheck TopHotel award different to the HolidayCheck Award?
For 6 years, the HolidayCheck Award has been given to the 99 most popular hotels worldwide. We find considerably more hotels on HolidayCheck with good ratings and excellent recommendations. So the TopHotel Award honors the top hotels in different regions and recognizes their achievements.
Does the best hotel from every region get an award?
The highest ranked hotels which account for 10% of all evaluations within a region are awarded with the TopHotel Award.
There are only 332 TopHotel Award winners worldwide for 2011 and your hotel is one of them.

Award Of the 99 most popular hotels for 2006

Blue Dolphin Hotel, situated in Sithonia Chalkidiki, was awarded as one of nine most popular tourist resorts in Greece for 2006.
The hotel received a commendation for its high quality of service, giving Chalkidiki yet another international distinction.
An award like this is particularly special as it is given to the hotel by its own customers. Moreover, Blue Dolphin Hotel is the onlyhotel in Mainland Greece to have received this distinction, since the other eight award-winning hotels are located on the islands of Crete, Rhodes and Kos.
Over the last ten years, German tourists have created their own online forum. Their need to communicate, exchange opinions and experiences in regards to worldwide destinations they travel to has led to the creation of a website: "holidaycheck.de".
This site contains about 32.000 reviews on hotels from all over the world written by more than 440.000 Germans.
As experienced and demanding tourists, these people objectively evaluate, compare and rank hotels they have recently visited on holiday. The rankings are based on customer service quality.
At the end of the year, they select and award the top 99 hotels worldwide. Nine of the award-winning hotels are located in Greece.
